FloodBrain is a project built during the Frontier Development Lab 2023 Summer Research Sprint. It is a tool for generating flood reports from a variety of sources, including ReliefWeb and the Emergency Events Database.
Using LLMs along with our own prompt engineering techniques, we automate the report making process and complement this with a map for geospatial insights, along with a chatbot for further investigation. There’s a long way to go before AI is a helpful part of the humanitarian sector, but we think this tool is on it’s way!
