I have both an industry and academic background. As an academic, I have researched collective creativity In industry, I worked initially as a software developer, and then as a software designer, manager, and consultant, including work as CTO, VC, and a board member. I have a Ph.D. in Computer Science from New York University, an MFA in Graphic Design from Rhode Island School of Design, and a BA in Visual Design from UC Berkeley. My academic work can be seen through https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=KOBQrOEAAAAJ&hl=en.
I am interested in meeting people or companies who are building creativity support tools.
I am building a tool oriented toward journalists, which provides ways of using synthetic personae in the ideation and development of stories. I have been doing this work under a National Science Foundation grant. I am also building a tool oriented toward creative work such as architecture (including metaverse architecture) and graphic design, using LLM agents that explore design space by assessing visual outputs and changing design goals on the fly.
