Nibbly

When our team was brainstorming ideas for this project, we knew we wanted to go beyond what existing language models are already great at, like generating text or images. We wanted to create something that felt practical and combined AI with real-world tools to deliver a more valuable experience for our end user.

Nibbly is a drone-powered food delivery service with a built-in chatbot - our “Snackbot” - that can assist the user throughout all stages of the food delivery process. First, the Snackbot can tell the user about restaurants in their neighborhood, including their favorites or recent orders. Next, it will show menus that the user requests to see, allowing them to select their order directly in the Snackbot. The user can then place an order and have the Snackbot track it in real time, delivering it straight to their location via drone technology.

Looking ahead to the future, we see the potential for Nibbly to become the next DoorDash, GrubHub, or UberEats — but powered by drones. While ground robots have worked on college campuses, they aren’t realistic in big cities where sidewalks are packed and space is limited. Drones can bypass obstructions that ground delivery cannot, avoiding traffic and delivering food faster and more efficiently. In dense cities like New York, they could be the most practical solution for on-demand delivery.

Nibbly also makes food delivery more accessible in rural areas where traditional services don’t operate. Drones can cover long distances quickly, reaching places drivers won’t. And the chatbot makes ordering simple: no apps, no complicated menus, just a conversation. That means anyone, anywhere, can use Nibbly with nothing more than a phone. With Nibbly, we’re not just rethinking food delivery — we’re building the future of how people connect with their local food, no matter where they are.
