I’m Abed, a PhD researcher in computational linguistics focused on understanding what modern language models can and cannot learn, using formal methods and linguistically grounded evaluation. My work sits at the intersection of language, cognition, and computation. I build reproducible pipelines and datasets, and I develop tools for segmenting, syllabifying, and analyzing stress and prosodic structure across Arabic dialects. I for linguistics I have built finite-state models for phonological constraints, and ML-based analyzers for speech and pronunciation. Outside of linguistics I have build production level systems for predicting weather's risk such as hurricanes and droughts.
Computational complexity, learnability, phonology, audio language models, speech to text.
Building a pipeline to build an audio speech language model that takes Arabic dialect variation into consideration
Learning Cross-Dialectal Morphophonology with Syllable Structure Constraints
Mapping Morphology to Phonology through Learning the Residuals
Enhancing Arabic Word Embedding with Modified BERT Multilingual
