4th-year CS/ML Undergrad, Incoming Software Development Engineer at UPenn, Amazon
Product + Tool-calling
I’m Alain, and I’m an incoming software engineer at Amazon, and a student at Penn studying a blend of Computer Science, Machine Learning, and Economics. I’m trying to live a life characterized by service to humanity, and in my career, I want to do that by improving everyday people’s lives using technology, and for me that’s drawn me to areas like public transit tech, EdTech, and AI ethics/safety. Outside of school/career, I spend a lot of time volunteering in local community, West Philly, I love to run, I love singing (I’m in an a capella group on campus), and I love building things with friends. Some things I'm working on:
* A better public transit on-time prediction algorithm
* A complete, AI-powered product for focused, online research/learning
I'm super interested in learning more about AI safety and alignment, as well as voice AI. I think voice AI is the future of human-AI/computer interaction, and I want be at the center of building it and pushing the frontiers of what's possible there. I also think that rapid innovation in AI needs to be accompanied by commensurate innovation in the AI safety area, for ALL of humanity to benefit from its positive effects.
I'm studying CS, ML, and economics at Penn. I've built tools at Amazon and Keolis that impact millions of users today. I founded Penn's Claude Builder Club, a 600-member AI community where I teach students AI development across all skill levels. I'm passionate about using technology to serve people, through public transit, education, and thoughtful AI. I love teaching, collaborating, and building things that matter.

Computer Science Student at Drexel University
Backend + Frontend
I am a computer science major at Drexel, with concentration in AI/ML and software development. I am also a co-founder of an Ed-Tech startup called BreakTest. I like building cool web apps.
Generative AI & RAG Systems (specifically vector embeddings and multimodal interactions) is something I am really interested in currently. Specifically, how we can use it to help many current educational platforms better and more personalized for each student.
I am currently building Looma AI, an AI-powered interactive resume platform that allows recruiters to conversationally query candidate profiles via a RAG-based chatbot. I am architecting a hybrid search pipeline combining vector embeddings and lexical search , while also integrating audio/video transcription workflows to let candidates record detailed project explanations that are chunked and made searchable for AI interaction
