Christie Shin is a SUNY FIT professor with 30+ years of experience in branding, UX/UI, and digital product design. She serves as Curriculum Committee Chair and CT&D Co-coordinator and received the SUNY Chancellor’s Award (2023–24). A Pratt alumna, she is Partner/Design Director at Cynda Media Lab with 60+ awards. Founder of the Design Portfolio Center and co-founder of DSGN BY D., she lectures globally, bridging academia and industry.

I lead AI-assisted design initiatives at FIT focused on exploring human–AI interfaces in digital product design education. My current work includes experimenting with generative-AI-supported UX/UI workflows, prompt-driven design systems, and hands-on AI design hackathons. I am particularly interested in how tools like Claude can support creative reasoning, collaboration, and interface exploration.

I’m currently developing and teaching AI-Assisted Design and Digital Product Design with AI at FIT, while serving as Partner and Design Director at Cynda Media Lab and supporting curriculum development in Creative Technology & Design. My Spring 2026 sabbatical project, “Empowering Design Education with AI,” focuses on building an open-source platform to expand access to AI-assisted design education.

I’m a junior studying Advertising & Digital Design, with a focus on blending strategy and creativity through courses like Creative Principles, Strategic Planning and Brand Campaigns, Digital Product Design, Dynamic Branding, UX Writing, and Kinetic Typography. I love experimenting with visual storytelling and bringing ideas to life through thoughtful design.

I am interested in Product design, AI-assisted design, UI/UX design, Advertising, Branding, Graphic Design, Brand strategy, Cinematography, and Creative workflows enhanced by AI. I’m eager to connect with professionals and collaborators in these areas to learn, grow, and explore innovative approaches.

I recently started a social media account to explore my interest in cinematography and visual storytelling. I love capturing the beauty and essence of any moment, whether it’s in nature, daily life, or unique experiences. Additionally, I’m working on class projects, including a redesign for the Adidas website and creating a dynamic branding system for the New York Public Library (NYPL).
